Common in Spruce and Pine forests and occasionally appears also under Oak, Beech and Chestnut trees.
5 - 15 cms.
2 - 3 cms diameter, 5 - 15 cms high.
Late Summer - Autumn.
Good edible mushroom, comparable in flavour with the Cep or Penny Bun.
