It grows on fallen trunks and branches of various hardwoods.
5 - 20 cms diameter.
2 - 8 cms long.
Late Spring - Autumn.
The white flesh of this polypore fungus is much too tough to be of any culinary interest.

When picking any fungus for consumption, caution should be exercised at all times.
