August - December. Gestation period is about 150 days
Deep bodied, with a square frame and broad shoulders and back. Its legs are shorter than its body depth, and have been observed to be bony, short, and straight. Bucks have an average height of 24 to 27 inches at the withers, while does are 22 to 24 inches . Bucks and does frequently weigh around 100–120 pounds.
Up to one third of the kids die within the first few days from predation by foxes, large birds like crows, and birds of prey.

The British Primitive Goat is the original goat of Great Britain and is considered a rare breed.
