Sheep-grazed grassland and sand dune systems. 1.5 - 4 cms diameter. Stemless June - October. Generally considered edible when young and white throughout, but it is not highly valued. Very similar to Earthballs, some of which, are highly poisonous When picking any fungus for consumption,
caution should be exercised at all times.
