Habitat: Diameter: Growth: Season: Edibility: Nearly always associated with dying Alder trees. Up to 10 cms. 3 - 6 cms out from wood. Throughout the year, but new young brackets generally appear in early to mid summer. Bitter, tough and as inedible as the tree it grows on. When picking any fungus for consumption, caution should be exercised at all times.
