Edibility:

In small tufts or singly on conifer stumps and on buried or exposed roots of dead conifers.
3 - 7 cms diameter.
5 - 8 cms long.
August - October.
Generally considered edible, although easily confused with  Galerina Marginata, commonly referred to as the Funeral Bell, which is deadly poisonous. If you need a further disincentive the small size and infrequent occurrence of Conifer Tuft surely make it a mushroom that is not worth collecting to eat.

When picking any fungus for consumption, caution should be exercised at all times.
