Fields and grassy areas after rain. It is often found on lawns in suburban areas. Appearing in small groups,  fairy rings, or solitary.
5 - 10 cms diameter.
3 - 10 cms.
May - November.
Culinary uses of the field mushroom include eating it sauteed or fried, in sauces, or even sliced raw and included in salads. In flavor and texture, this mushroom is almost identical to the white button mushroom available in grocery stores.

Can easily be confused with several morbidly toxic species.

When picking any fungus for consumption, caution should be exercised at all times.
