Cultivated
and waste land, woods, ditches hedgerows. June - September. 60 - 100 cms. The green parts of Woundworts have been used in poultices since ancient times to stem bleeding. The effectiveness of this treatment seems to be supported by modern science which has identified an antiseptic within the oil found in the plants juices. |
