Feature:
The females lay their eggs in the nests of social wasps or bumblebees, where the larvae live as scavengers, feeding on debris and occasionally on host's larvae.
Nectar and pollen with a preference for blue flowers.
8 - 14 mm
11 - 17 mm
Forest edges and clearings, hedgerows, urban wasteland or gardens.
Two generations and can be encountered from May until September, with a peak in June.
