Northern Marsh x Common Spotted Orchid Taken at  Cathkin Marsh on 5th July 2019 using Panasonic Lumix LX5 in macro mode. Northern Marsh x Common Spotted Orchid. Species: Order: Family: Dactylorhiza fuchsii x purpurella. Asparagales. Orchidaceae. This hybrid is a vigorous handsome plant with paler flowers than the Northern Marsh-Orchid, and is very variable. It shows various combinations of the features of both parents. Like most hybrids it is almost totally sterile, producing no or very few seeds.
