Bright orange tips on it's white upper forewings which
can be seen on it's underwings.
The tips of the female's forewings are black rather than orange.
The underside of the hindwings on both sexes is
white with subtle greenish marbling.
Hedgerows, riverbanks, woodland margins and meadows.
March-October.
