Coniferous and deciduous woodlands. 9 - 10 cms diameter. 4 - 11 cms long. The colour is highly variable, with greyish, greenish, olive, yellowish and brownish shades. June - October. Usually classified as inedible or possibly mildly poisonous. When picking any fungus for consumption,
caution should be exercised at all times.
