In all kinds of woodland; occasionally on damp sawdust and wood chip mulch
4 - 9 cms diameter.
0.5 - 1 cm diameter, 3 - 5 cms long.
June - December.
Considered to be edible, but its quality is so poor that collecting it is not considered worthwhile.


When picking any fungus for consumption, caution should be exercised at all times.
