Amanita fulva is one of the few good edible species in its genus. Though this particular species is considered edible, it must be identified with care .
The genus Amanita contains about 600 species of agarics, including some of the most toxic known mushrooms found worldwide. This genus is responsible for approximately 95% of fatalities resulting from mushroom poisoning.

When picking any fungus for consumption, caution should be exercised at all times.
