Amanita
fulva is one of the few good edible species in its genus. Though
this particular species is considered edible, it must be identified
with care .
The genus Amanita contains
about 600 species of agarics, including some of the
most toxic known mushrooms found worldwide. This
genus is responsible for approximately 95% of fatalities resulting
from mushroom poisoning.
When picking any fungus for consumption,
caution should be exercised at all times.
