White Butterbur Taken at Strathclyde Park on 3rd April 2018 using Panasonic Lumix LX5 in macro mode. White Butterbur Species : Order: Family: Habit: Petasites albus. Asterales. Asteraceae. Perennial rhizomatous herb. Habitat: Feature: Damp soils in deciduous forests, pastures, streamsides and  roadside verges. Introduced to the U.K. by the 17th century and naturalized in Yorkshire by 1843, but now predominantly distributed in North-east Scotland.
