Native to Siberia and Western North America. Introduced to UK in 18th Century. This white leaved subspecies,of the Pink Purslane is known as the
Stewarton Flower, due to its local abundance in that part of North Ayrshire, Scotland.The white variety also predominates in Templeton Woods Dundee with the Pink variety predominating elsewhere in Scotland.
